Marnee Alfson, LMHC Associate at River Bend Counseling, will touch on what trauma is and how to identify signs of trauma within classrooms, and homes. Marnee believes we gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience we choose to walk through. Trauma therapy is an important part of hope in helping other survivors live their lives free of the pain they have experienced. Believing in Khalil Gibran’s words that “out of suffering have emerged the strongest souls; the most massive characters are seared with scars;” it takes vulnerability and courage to work at reclaiming our lives and Marnee has sincere respect for those who cross the door of a counseling center to begin that journey.
